Personality Profile:

John Fain makes himself 'Mr. Positive'

Being positive is one of the most important aspects of building a sales career with the company opportunity.

Enthusiastic, motivated dealers such as Supervisor John Fain of Silent Achievers division in Shooting Stars district—are the driving force behind every successful organization.

In a way, it's fitting that John should be part of Silent Achievers division. He is a conscientious worker who seldom toots his own horn, but keeps the pressure on himself to reach successively higher goals.

Sup. John Fain, and wife, Fld. Mgr. Stacia, pose in front of their office in Sydney, Australia. John attributes the greatest influence on his success to "my beautiful Stacia."

In a note attached to John's personality profile form, Australian Sales and Development Manager Alvin Preston observed: "John is one of our young Australians, who will go far in our company."

Just how does John plan to reach his goals. "By always being positive," he says. "Staying excited, recruiting, and telling people about my work."

Beside his obvious love of helping people, John's interests are to "have a large division, and be financially independent." John's only been with the company since February or last year, but he's putting everything he has into his dream.

When asked what motivates him to success, John answers: "The challenge of being different from everyone else."

Sup. John Fain gets motivation from AS&D Mgr. Alvin Preston during a big meeting rewarding all the champions in Australia for their enthusiasm and effort.

Before starting his career here, John was an earthmoving contractor; to him, this company definitely represents the difference between back-breaking work with no gains, and work that will pay handsome dividends for his effort and time investment.

In fact, "the difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra that a person is willing to put into his (or her) career," insists John.

"It's easy to give up and do what everyone else does," he explains, "but with just a little more effort, desire, and ambition, that little investment of effort reaps large rewards."

John, who is 28 years old and wants to advance beyond his high school education, strongly adheres to the quote: "The speed of the leader determines the rate of the pack." That's why he is working to develop his own group. He earned his supervisor promotion in May, and he gives much of his time to helping his dealers develop their skills.

A special quarterly award is presented to Sup. John Fain by Reg. Mgr. Gordon Lea during a meeting in Shooting Stars district.

John starts his work day at 7:30 a.m. door-knocking with his recruits and training them for success. Then he works in his office during the noontime period, after which he gets out to find his own appointments and makes presentations until late at night.

Because he lives in Australia, John likes to surf and travel, but meeting people is his favorite hobby—one that makes his professional attitude stronger.

His most inspirational moment, John reports, was "to meet a happy, satisfied customer, who has had her set for more than 20 years."
