Christmas Time

Hang the stockings out this year
And fill them full of cheer.
Sing the carols we hold dear
As colored lights appear.
Decorate the Christmas tree;
Greet everyone we see.
Tell the little girls and boys
That Santa's bringing toys.

It's Christmas time.
It's wishing time.
It's time to sing this song.
We're happy now.
Can you see how
We've waited all year long?
Waited for the holidays.
Waited in so many ways.
Waited for the time to come
When we could laugh and play.

Grampa settles in his chair
Blowing smoke rings in the air.
Gramma still remembers so
Decembers long ago.
Children scamper off to bed
To dream of dolls and sleds.
Mom and dad sit back to rest,
They love this season best.
