Eagles, herons, and gulls graced our window when Terri and I traveled by Amtrak to San Francisco last summer, 2008. Some were beautiful—the heron fishing and the eagles landing in Lower Klamath Lake, Oregon. Some were annoying … the gulls in San Francisco, following the tour boat to the Golden Gate and back, and swooping for handouts in Marina Park.
