Facility and building (including use and fees) of Redmond United Methodist Church
About our building facility and grounds
The building facility and grounds, or any part, are
available for rent to be used for weddings, meetings, retreats, concerts
and rehearsals, scouting activities, elections, and other events and
programs that are in keeping with the family values of Redmond UMC and its
congregation. As a religious place of worship, the needs of the
congregation come first, and all other uses will be scheduled as time is
available.
Although Redmond UMC is a religious organization, the
facilities can be—and often are—used by secular organizations
for secular purposes. Redmond UMC holds that all persons have equal and
inalienable rights and are therefore allowed to use the facility without
restrictions based on race, religion, color, nationality, age, or other
segregating factors. Redmond UMC permits use of the church’s
facilities without requiring users to be members of the United Methodist Church and free from recruitment into the United Methodist Church.
Fee schedule for using the Redmond UMC building and
facilities
Redmond UMC charges fees commiserate with the need of
the congregation to maintain the church’s investment in the building
facilities and grounds. The fees are not intended to deter use of the
facilities but to preserve them for perpetual use in the Redmond community.
Any group desiring to use the church can, upon display of proper
information and credentials, request the fees be waived for single use
programs and events.
Some fees include wages to make sure the Redmond UMC
facility is operated by knowledgeable church clergy, staff, and/or
volunteers, to make sure equipment is properly used and stored, for setup
and take down of tables, chairs, and other furnishings, for clean-up and
maintenance, and for music in keeping with the spiritual nature of the
facility’s primary use.
