Inclusivity and Diversity Policy

The Redmond United Methodist Church congregation considers itself a caring congregation. As such, we care about all people, no matter what their age, race, religion, ethnic group, economic strata, or gender. Redmond UMC does not condone actions which demean another or deny anyone free access to the graces of God and the love of Jesus Christ. On the church's premises, no one will knowingly demean another person.

The congregation of Redmond UMC actively encourages diversity. Our church facility is deliberately located in an area of great population diversity and every year we re-affirm our commitment to staying in this area. We invited all people to receive Redmond UMC as a safe place to relish the differences God made among us, while understanding that we believe we are one people in the eyes of the Lord.

The United Methodist Church and Redmond United Methodist Church believe in the practice of "open communion," meaning that all people are welcome at the table of Christ and may freely partake of the cup and the host of Holy Eucharist.
