Caterpillars can receive only 15 Agape letters

Agape is a significant part of the total Chrysalis experience and participants find it extremely meaningful. This leads to some Cats attaching emotional baggage to the event. To avoid hurt feelings, we have established the following rule:

Every Cat will get exactly 15 letters in his or her Agape sack.

And there will be NO exceptions made. That way each Caterpillar will experience the same joy we feel but not be concerned if they or other Cats don't receive the same amount of Agape.

The sacks are delivered Sunday and they need to hold the most significant letters—grandparents, parents, siblings, teachers, close friends, etc.

If you sponsor a Caterpillar, the Puget Sound Chrysalis board of directors requests that you follow these guidelines when preparing agape.

These 15 letters must be delivered together secured and labeled clearly with your Caterpillar's name. Remember, 15 letters is the maximum that will be delivered to the Caterpillars on the Agape Drop. It will help immensely if you deliver these bundled letters to the Agape Team by the Thursday of the Chrysalis Flight or Journey weekend.

If you receive more than 15 Agape letters, you may bundle the extras and deliver them yourself to your Caterpillar after closing. If you need help delivering them, follow the same "packaging" guidelines but mark them clearly as additional with the Caterpillar's name, so the Agaperations Team will know to deliver them to individual Cats following closing.

Don't make the Agaperations Team decide which are the most important letters—they may not know your Caterpillar's priorities or needs—and they don't have much time to analyze your deliveries. The Caterpillars get only 15 letters in their Agape sacks, and it's up to you, as the sponsor, to make these the right letters.

For other not-so-personalized Agape, including trinkets, candy, and general letters, please include enough for everyone in the Conference Room (approximately 60). These will be delivered throughout the weekend as table and pillow Agape.

Remember, Chrysalis is modeled upon, but is not a carbon copy of the Emmaus weekend. Help us make this a moving, valuable experience for your Caterpillars by adhering to the Chrysalis Agape letter guidelines.
